Recycle Idea; Saving Endangered Species.

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to save jelly or jam jars.

Adults: Use them as drinking glasses! Here's how: (It's really quite easy ;) 1. Try to get absolutely, positively, every single bit of the jelly/jam you can get if you can't get every bit, look at step 2. 2. Wash and rinse with dish soap and water the tiny smears of jelly along the sides. (for extra cleanliness, use hot water for rinsing. 3. Now you have a shiny, decorative, new glass! (Here's a tip: For extra, extra cleanliness, get a frying pan, and pour water in it. Boil the water, and turn the jars upside-down on it. Then let it simmer for a few minutes.)

Kids: Use extra jelly jars and wash them yourself! Then catch a bug inside and put it back in the refrigerator. (Just to surprise your mom when she opens it!)

These animals are endangered because of habitat loss. They live in the grassy deserts and plains of Mongolia. They mostly eat grass, plants, and fruit. They became extinct during the 20th century because of poaching and crossbreeding. But because of zoos, they went from extinct to endangered. I am soooooooooo thankful for zoos aren't you?

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to save water.

If you have pets, you can reuse water to give them water to drink! Here is an example: The water in our tub leaks drop by drop and we were trying to figure out what to do with it. Suddenly, Daddy had an idea. I always feed and water the animals on our farm, so I feed the kittens, cat, and dog and water him. So Daddy made up the idea to put the pitcher that I always use to water the dog underneath the place the drops come out at and leave it there all night. When I wake up int the morning to water the dog, The pitcher is filled up for me! If you have any leaks, and animals that need water, don't waste the water from the leaks!! Save Endangered Species!!!

Recycle Idea; Saving Endangered Species.

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to recycle eggshells.

Adults: Have a garden next spring! 1. Next spring, buy seeds from a store. 2. bring them home and put the seeds away. Now it's time to work on the eggshells. 3. I f the eggshells are still connected, gently pull them in half. 4. take the smaller half and put it in a compost pile. 5. Fill all of the bigger halves with dirt. Take your seeds and press the seeds down into the dirt. 6 put each shell back in it's carton. water them, and set them by a sunny spot. A few weeks later, and the sprouts will begin to look cute in their little shells.

Kids: Ask your parents to grow the ingredients for pizza!

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to recycle things made of paper.

Adults: Make a nice, warm fire! Paper really helps to make flames nice and warm. 1. clear out a big space in your backyard where you want the fire. 2. Gather a big pile of sticks, logs, bark, and maybe some dried, dead leaves and put them in the center. 3. pour water on the rest of the space around the pile. This keeps the fire in the pile so it doesn't spread and burn your whole yard. 4. with a match or a lighter, set fire to the pile. 5. If you want your flames to grow bigger faster, put used napkins, paper cups, or paper plates in the fire.

Kids: Get the ingredients for smores and hot dogs!

Today's recycle idea is how to recycle old, small shoe boxes.

Adults: If you're moving, shoe boxes or any other small boxes would be a great way to carry many small dishes, toys, and CD's.

Kids: Shoe boxes are a great way to catch big bugs like spiders, crickets, grasshoppers, cockroaches, and other bugs. Don't forget to spend time helping your mother pack the DVD's!

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to recycle egg cartons and shells.

Adults: You can grow plants! Gently take each eggshell and scoop dirt into it. Take a pencil and push it into the dirt to make a hole. Then you plant the seed into there, take as much water as you need and water it. Set it in a sunny spot and every few days water it and watch them grow!

Kids: When the kiwis, strawberries, apples, and oranges grow, eat them quick before everyone else gobbles them up!

The Endangered Species Animal of the day is this: Gelada Baboon. I read this in a book and the book did not say why it was endangered. But you could always look it up. This animal is a Mammal. It lives in forests and mountains. The picture of it shows sharp teeth. I might not want to meet with one of them. They look sort of like lions too. (If lions had long skinny legs and a short skinny body.) These animals eat plant matter, fruits, and small animals. I think it is an omnivore. Which are animals that eat a wide varitey of foods. Poor Gelada Baboons!

Today's Recycle idea of the day is how to recycle Horse droppings:

Everyone: You will need flower seeds, bare spot in ground, water, and shovels. A garden of course! Horse droppings should be rotted before putting to use in the garden. You would either want to use gloves, or a bucket to pick it up because it wouldn't be nessecary to pick it up with bare hands. Then, watch the seeds grow!

We had friends over today,

Their names are Maddie and Matt,

We went to Fareway for dinner,

Maddie and Matthew are good friends. Maddie is 1 year old and Matt is 3 or 4. They stayed for a few hours and we even went for a walk. Brinkley and I rode our bikes, Mommy pushed the stroller, and Matt, Eden, and Bo walked. Praise the Lord for friends!

Recycle Idea; Saving Endangered Species.

Today's recycle idea is going to be how to recycle old cardboard from a box.

Adults: Use it to carry things you need. Cut it to size (Depending on how big "what you need" is) Then you can label it. "Matches" or "Dishes" or "Paper" would be fine.

Kids: Make it into a castle! Use the big box to design it. You can make a door with an adult's help and then play in it.

Everyone: Use a square of cardboard for a sign! You can set up a lemonade stand and make a sign that says: Fresh Lemonade, or Get Your Lemonade, and maybe design it with pictures of lemons or people with fresh lemonade or a glass of lemonade with lemons being squeezed to make drops of juice.

Recycle Idea; Saving Endangered Species.

Today's Recycle idea of the day is going to be how to recycle Popsicle sticks.

Kids and Adults: Make a little picture frame. Our friends made a cute frame for us not too long ago. 1. You need four Popsicle sticks for each frame you make. 2. Glue the sticks in the shape of a square. 3. Cut the picture in a small shape and glue the picture on construction paper. 4. Cut the paper into a square the size of the Popsicle stick square and glue it onto the frame. 5. Cut a pipe cleaner and tie the ends of the tops of the sticks. 6. Write little notes on the sicks and maybe decorate the sticks with sequins or you can color it with markers. You can bring them to a friend's house to give it to them or keep it yourself for decoration.

Today's Recycle idea will be how to recycle cardboard tubes.

Everyone: (Adults can help the little kids) Make a spotting scope out of it! 1. Get a bunch of tubes and glue the open circles together. Keep gluing until the scope is as long as you want it. 2. Get construction paper any color you like and glue the paper on the tubes. You may have to use two pieces depending on how you glue them. 3. Get any decorations! You can use sequins, glitter, ribbon, or even paint! Decorate a nice scope and color pictures on it if you want. 4. Play!
